Sayyed Mostafa Heravi'Bold text' Born in 1974 in Mashhad, Iran, Heravi was raised in a conservative religious family who from early childhood encouraged him to take up drawing, reading the Quran, and calligraphy. Heravi pursued painting in the presence of a number of master artists, including Hosseintalebi and Amir Khajehamiri. He later received a degree in audiovisueel from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. He now works as a renowned filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist and is known for his social critical approach.
