Sayyid Abbas Ali Shihab Thangal is a community leader and religious scholar from Kerala, India. He serves as the Malappuram District President, Indian Union Muslim League.[1][2][3] and General Secratary of Jami'a Nooriyya Arabic College, he was the former president of Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF) which is the students wing of Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama (EK group). [4][5]
Although he is a spiritual leader of Kerala Muslims and a influential personality among them, he is considered as a political leader too.[6][7] While he is a spiritual leader, he is leading a political party named Indian Union Muslim League. He is the Qazi of many Muslim Mahals in Kerala and Leading many higher religious colleges.

Sayyid Abbas Ali Shihab Thangal is the youngest son of PMSA Pookkoya Thangal (1913 - 1975) and the younger brother of the Late Syed Muhammedali Shihab Thangal (1936 - 2009) and Late Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal (1940 - 2008), Late Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal (1947 - 2022), Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.
