Many schools have mascots. Mascots may be represented by a large number of things. Mascots can be anywhere from spartans to tigers. When a school makes an animal mascot they often tend to base the mascot off an animal in the area close to the school. Sometimes times mascots represent important historical people. Other times, a Mascot is just arbitrary and is chosen for no reason. Many times, A person will dress up as the School Mascot at major events such as sporting events. Mascots often come to sporting events to create pep and add energy for a sports team. Mascots have also been known to give confidence to certain players on sports teams who need it. Mascots can also be seen on school sports jerseys or physical education clothing. Just a few of the famous Mascots in schools and colleges include the UCLA Bruins, The University of Georgia Bulldogs, and the Stanford Trees. Mascots are seen in a negative light by people who say that mascots are distracting to both players and coaches on sports teams. Mascots are a symbol of identity for Schools and are a tradition that should be continued.
