The Science Faculty of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras originated in the 2005 Organic Law of UNAH , which created a transition commission with the purpose of reforming the administrative structures of the University and along with the vice-rectory reformed the academical structures following the guidelines of the University General Studies Center of UNAH[2]. Its first dean was the Phd. Mirna Marín[3] who left the office in 2013[4]
