Career[edit]
In 1994, at the age of 21, Aitchison was elected on to the Huntsville Town Council and the Muskoka District Council. This made him the youngest person to ever serve in either of these positions.[1] After working for several years in the private sector including as a real estate agent with the firm Coldwell Banker he was elected as the Mayor of the Town of Huntsville in 2014[2] and was re-elected again in 2018 gaining over 80% of the vote.[3]. Scott claimed his goals as mayor were financial responsibility, citizen engagement, economic development, job creation, sustainability, attainable housing and healthcare. In 2018, following the resignation of longtime Conservative MP Tony Clement, Aitchison announced that he would seek the nomination for the riding of Parry sound Muskoka.
