Scott Alldridge (born November 18, 1969) is an American information technology executive and author. He is the chief executive officer of IP Services and president of the IT Process Institute (ITPI).[1][2][3] He has co-authored the Visible Ops series of publications on IT management and cybersecurity.[4][5][6]
Early life and education
Alldridge was adopted as an infant and raised in Eugene, Oregon. As a teenager, he operated a raspberry business and later played football at Linfield College and the University of Oregon].[7][5][6]
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Kensington College of Business in 1996. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from the European International University, with a concentration in cybersecurity, and completed a program in technology and data privacy at Harvard University. He also holds the Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) credential.[3][5][6][8]
Career
IP Services
In 1996, Alldridge founded IP Services as part of MicroAge, a Fortune 500 technology integrator, before it became an independent managed services and cybersecurity firm.[1] The company established a 14,000-square-foot data center and network operations center in Eugene.[7][9]
IT Process Institute
In 2003, Alldridge co-founded the IT Process Institute (ITPI), a research organization focused on IT standards and security practices.[10] ITPI produced the Visible Ops series, which outlined frameworks for IT service management and process improvement.[11][9][12]
SJA Enterprises
In 2016, Alldridge founded SJA Enterprises, Inc.[1] The company expanded by acquiring the file transfer service DropSend[13] and the legal case chronology platform TrialLine.[7][11][14]
Other ventures
In 2001, he founded A&A Properties Northwest, which developed a 14,000-square-foot office building and data center in Eugene.[3][7]
Publications
Alldridge is co-author of the Visible Ops series, including The Visible Ops Handbook (2004) and Visible Ops Security.[10] The series has reportedly sold more than 400,000 copies worldwide.[7][12][15][16]
His more recent work includes Visible Ops Cybersecurity: Enhancing Your Cybersecurity Posture with Practical Guidance. He has also been reported to be collaborating with Bruce Schneier on a future publication.[7][15][16][17]
Advisory roles
Alldridge has served as chairman of the board at New Hope Christian College in Eugene.[18]
He has also appeared as a guest on podcasts produced by the Center for Internet Security[19] and by HIMSS Media.[20]
Alldridge has also been listed as an advisor to AMS AI, a company developing AI-powered solutions for hospitals.[5][9]
