Scott Dylan (born 3 February 1984) is a British entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is the Founder of NexaTech Ventures, a venture capital firm established in 2024 with a £100 million fund dedicated to supporting artificial intelligence and emerging technology startups across Europe and North America.

Dylan is also known for his advocacy in mental health and prison reform, using his personal experience to campaign for more humane and effective justice policies in England and Wales.

Early Life

He went to John Roan School, where he started to develop his business acumen by identifying cost-saving opportunities and engaging in entrepreneurial endeavours.

To expand his creative abilities and interests, Scott attended Italia Conti Associates, a prestigious performing arts institution. While there, he further nurtured his entrepreneurial spirit, showcasing his versatility and unwavering determination.

Motivated by his fascination with law, Scott pursued higher education at the Open University to broaden his knowledge and skill set. He became a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and the Institute of Paralegals, demonstrating his dedication to understanding the legal framework surrounding business and entrepreneurship.

Dylan began his career in technology and security, including consultancy roles with Microsoft and the UK Ministry of Defence, where he contributed to projects focused on encryption and digital security. His subsequent work in digital transformation and marketing strategy led to senior positions at Octopus Investments and We are AD, where he oversaw large-scale digital innovation initiatives.

In the late 2010s, Dylan co-founded a business collective focused on acquiring and restructuring struggling companies across the UK and Europe. The organisation specialised in rescuing distressed brands, preserving employment, and stabilising businesses through strategic investment and operational turnaround. Under his leadership, the group acquired a range of businesses across retail, travel, technology, and creative sectors.

Following his exit from that venture, Dylan founded NexaTech Ventures in 2024 — a firm headquartered in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, with additional offices in California, USA. NexaTech Ventures invests in early-stage AI and technology companies operating in sectors such as healthcare, financial technology, logistics, and creative industries. The firm provides financial backing, strategic mentorship, and operational guidance to accelerate innovation and sustainable growth.

Philanthropy and Advocacy

Dylan is an outspoken mental health advocate, having shared his own experiences living with Complex PTSD, depression, and anxiety. He previously trained as a Samaritan, supporting individuals in crisis, and continues to champion mental health accessibility and workplace wellbeing initiatives across the UK and Ireland.

As a prison reform advocate, Dylan campaigns for systemic change in the treatment of civil and non-violent prisoners. Drawing on his own lived experience within the justice system, he promotes initiatives centred on education, rehabilitation, and humane custody standards. His advocacy extends to public commentary and published opinion pieces on issues such as sentencing reform and the role of rehabilitation in justice policy.

Dylan has also been active in community philanthropy. In 2020, alongside his family, he supported the reopening of The Beehive Community Centre in Honiton, Devon, following pandemic-related closures.
