Scott McGovern is an American SEO expert, journalist, entrepreneur, and cannabis activist. Named a "digital growth expert" by Entrepreneur magazine,[1] McGovern is credited with expanding cannabis culture into the mainstream,[2] and is a frequent contributor to Entrepreneur magazine and Benzinga on the subjects of legalization, SEO, cannabis, cryptocurrency, and entrepreneurship.[3][4]

McGovern founded cannabis media company Green Rush Daily, which was acquired by High Times magazine.[5] He joined High Times as Senior Executive Vice President in 2018.[6] Scott McGovern is also the founder and CEO of cryptocurrency and blockchain media company Blocklr and SEO firm Growth Nuts.

Green Rush Daily

Scott McGovern founded Green Rush Daily, a cannabis media company that describes itself as "The Voice of the Cannabis Revolution,” in 2015.[7] Green Rush Daily publishes content covering cannabis news, guides, culture, technology, business, and cannabis legalization and decriminalization.

McGovern grew Green Rush Daily's following to 6.5 million unique visitors per month and 24 million monthly page views within two years of its inception. He also cultivated a significant network of social media influencers, including Tyga, Ludacris, and Cheech & Chong and syndicated to Refinery29, Ranker, Rare Media, and Barstool Sports.

In 2017, High Times acquired Green Rush Daily.[8] McGovern assumed the position of Senior Executive Vice President of High Times to focus on product development and audience expansion prior to their IPO.[9]

Blocklr

In 2018, McGovern founded cryptocurrency and blockchain media company Blocklr. Blocklr focuses on cryptocurrency and blockchain guides, product reviews, breaking news, and cryptocurrency price analyses.[10]

Growth Nuts

McGovern founded search engine optimization and marketing firm Growth Nuts in 2018. Growth Nuts helps companies grow website traffic through organic search engine results.[11]

McGovern is a frequent contributor to Entrepreneur magazine and Benzinga. He focuses on cryptocurrency and cannabis news and analyses and has published in-depth articles on new cryptocurrency applications, how to pay cryptocurrency taxes, and upcoming cannabis legalization initiatives.[12][13]
