Scott Strauss is an American studio executive who is Executive Vice President of Sony Screen Gems (2005 - Present)[1].

Scott is responsible for finding, developing, packaging material, and overseeing global production and post-production on three to four films a year for Sony Screen Gems Film Division. He specializes in finding up-and-coming talent and conceptualizing and executing cost-conscious films with high return potential.

Personal Life & Education[edit]

Scott graduated class of 1990 from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Communications.

He also attended USC Peter Stark Motion Picture Producing Program. He started in the film industry as a trainee in the ABC Entertainment Associates Program.

Career[edit]

He is currently overseeing Text For You[2], Shrine[3], and Resident Evil Reboot[4].

He's previously worked as Vice President at to Kopelson Entertainment and the President of Outlaw Productions[5].

He has been primary executive on films targeting wide international audiences, genre films targeting international horror audiences, as well as a number of films created by and featuring diverse talent made for diverse audiences.
