Sean Keeley (born c. 1997) is the President Elect of Oxford Brookes' Student Union[3]

In March 2018, Sean Keeley defeated the incumbent President Diko Blackings; running on a slate with all the winners of the 2017 election, replacing all the previous officers.[4] Upon taking up office, Sean will become a Governor of Oxford Brookes University[5]

Early Life and Education

Early life

Sean Keeley was born in London to Irish and Mauritian parents. He was educated at St Benedict's School, Ealing, a London based independent Catholic day school till the age of 18. Sean started his micro-political career in Secondary School where he became the inaugural Student President.[6]

University Education

After gaining a place at Oxford Brookes University Sean went on to read Economics, Finance and International Business [7]. And in his second year took a sabbatical to become President of the Student's Union.

Manifesto

Sean Keeley's manifesto promises made before the 2018 election[8]

1. Maintain Union policy of more park lighting in South Park.

2. Bring forward the release and testing of the new Brookes Wi-Fi Service.

3. Increase JHB Café opening times, along with more desk and work space in JHB, including more single and duel workspace pods.

4. Push for and increase frequency and reliability of the BrookesBus services.

5. No lectures and academic activities scheduled on Wednesday afternoons. Push for compulsory breaks in 2-hour lectures.

6. Push for increased funding of university services including careers and the Upgrade Service.

7. Push for increased sports funding, more minibuses and tax benefits to sports clubs. Make it easier to accept sponsorship as a sports club.

8. Increased student control on university services such as the Union bar and Café.
