Sebastian Johannes Deshayes (born November 2, 2004), known professionally as Raveyard Keeper, is a Swedish electronic record producer, musician, beatmaker[1][2] and remixer.[3]
Early life[edit]
Sebastian Johannes Deshayes was born in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland County, Sweden.
At the age of 12, he made songs using samples and loops from Soundtrap[4] to make dubstep. He was first influenced by electronic, hiphop and rock music at an early age from his household[5][6] and social media sites like YouTube. At the age of 14, he wrote rap songs and made beats for his childhood friend, uploading his rap to SoundCloud under the name SebzZome.[7] At 15, he released his first single Revenge February 1, 2020,[8][9] to raise awareness towards bullying.[10] The first EP he ever made under the name was a self-titled one, uploading it to SoundCloud on October 31, 2019. Since then the EP has been privated or removed.[11] After the EP, he formed and revised with a garage band called Crystal Death after meeting his classmate Simon Dalström who had just recently begun attending Sebastian's high school, both aged 16 at the time. Putting rap music to the side at the time, Sebastian revised with Crystal Death, mostly doing covers of thrash metal songs with Sebastian on the vocals, Simon on the bass, Robin Dalström on the electric guitar and Alfred Karlsson on the drums. They later performed a cover of Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls in Arvika as a live broadcast with the help of UKM.[12] A couple months afterward, the band split up and went their separate ways.
Music career[edit]
Raveyard Keeper[edit]
Sebastian kept writing rap up until mid-2021, where he resigned from rap and instead put his focus on making electronic music. He made his first single Skin Hunger Psychosis[13] in 2021 and uploaded it to YouTube[13], then later distributed the track to other music streaming services with the label company Amuse, the same label he used under SebzZome.[14]
Since then Sebastian has kept producing and releasing electronic music to streaming services, releasing his second single Fear on February 28, 2022[15], his EP Brainsplitter on June 19, 2022,[16] a remix of Mareux's The Perfect Girl on July 23, 2022[17] and his debut album Endless Cycle of Nothing on December 6, 2022,[18] even doing collaborations with others for example how he collabed with Racoon Syndrome on Waiting Room.[1][19]
