Sebastian Nagel
Sebastian Nagel (born 1997) is a German secondary school teacher and author.
Life & Career
After completing his A-levels, Sebastian Nagel studied German and History with a view to becoming a teacher at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. At the same time, he gained expertise in theatre education and production and was involved, amongst other things, in the realisation of the RiminiProtokoll project Bauprobe Beethoven. The author completed his studies in 2021 with the thesis Aristophanes 2.0 – On the Ancient Poet and His Didactic Potential. The highly acclaimed work has since been published by Wissenschaftlicher Verlag Berlin and is now regarded as a standard work on the ancient comic poet. In 2023, the same publisher released the monograph Über einen (fast) vergessenen Skandal – Über die Causa des Binjamin Wilkomirski.
Sebastian Nagel lives and works near Cologne. In addition to his teaching duties, he supervises several theatre groups and lectures on a voluntary basis in the field of literature and theatre education. Since 2024, he has been a member and artistic director of a writers’ collective. In this context, he has published short story anthologies with several publishers, as well as the fantasy trilogy Zauberer der Gemütlichkeit a.D., which has also been adapted as an audio drama for Spotify.
