Second Order Effects[edit]
Second Order Effects (SOE) is an engineering research and development firm specializing in custom electronics and end-to-end electronic systems. The firm specializes in developing cross-disciplined solutions and products to help solve some of the world’s most difficult problems by optimizing solutions beyond the first order.[1][2]
The SOE team have industrial experience developing power converters, motor controllers, analog sensor drivers, RF amplifiers, antennas, mixed-signal circuits, and embedded solutions. With expertise in PCBA design, circuit design, power electronics, embedded systems software (and beyond), Second Order Effects prides themselves on their breadth of knowledge and ability to tackle the hardest engineering problems.[3]
History[edit]
Second Order Effects was started in 2016 by Dennis Fong (CEO), Tyler Slone (CTO), and Augustine Liu (COO). Dennis Fong and Tyler Slone were former engineers from SpaceX who were actively involved in developing and solving avionics hardware and systems for SpaceX's early launches[4], and Augustine Liu was the former founder and COO of AwesomeSauce Labs.[5][6] The team has since grown to over 65 employees with offices in multiple states.
