Seif Khamis Said Gulamali
Honourable Seif Khamis Gulamali has an ongoing political career that began fruitfully with the post of head prefect at Jamhuri High School in 2007. Gulamali was a student leader in every sense of the term.
Besides being a Member of Parliament, Gulamali has many other laurels and labels that he is associated with. He belonged to an ordinary family from a district called Igunga, Tabora(Tanzania). Born on the 3rd October 1984, Gulamali rose far above his humble beginnings holding on, to the ladder that his zeal to help created.
Gulamali’s educational background is a varied checkerboard of village, town and city education. After completing his primary education from Chemchem, he joined Kazima Secondary School and later St. Mary’s Secondary School owned by Catholic Missionaries in Tabora. He moved to Dodoma (Capital city of Tanzania) and joined Jamhuri High School, Gulamali received a bachelor’s degree (Freight Clearing and Forwading) from National Institute of Transport in 2011.
Gulamali’s long and eventful political career began with a post of president of Student’s government at National Institute of Transport. His reforms and programs changed outlook of student’s government.
During his leadership he sought to help students from all walks of life to gain an understanding about their rights. In his quest to help from poor families, he set up fund and contributed towards their tuition fees.
After graduating, he worked as a moderator in Nyamigogo Grand. Seif Gulamali supported the ruling party Chama cha Mapinduzi CCM, from a young age and he was elected as chairman of Youth’s party wing (UVCCM) at regional level in 2012.
Personal life;
Gulamali is an avid sports enthusiast and played footbal competitively in school. As a member of parliament, he introduced ‘Gulamali Cup’ in Manonga Constituency. He has been a patron of the youth’s sports programs in Tanzania for the past years. Recently, through his efforts Manonga Queens Football Club emerged as one among eighteen women clubs that qualified for Tanzania women League (First division 2018). He is married to Sarah Abdallah and they have two children (Salim and Maryam)
2015 Parliamentary Election;
Charismatic, colorful and an efficient youth leader, Seif Khamis Said Gulamali made a tremendous changes as chairman of Youth’s party wing (UVCCM) at Tabora Region. He won the hearts of the party’s members and locals. Gulamali was the natural choice to stand as CCM flag bear for Manonga Constituency during general election 2015. On October 25, Gulamali won the parliamentarian seat with 31,485 votes to 14,420 received by Ally Nguzo( CHADEMA). Gulamali won 67.65% of the vote to Nguzo's 30.96%. He became the first Member of Parliament from a new constituency called Manonga.
Gulamali as a Member of Parliament;
Gulamali is well loved in his constituency as he is working hard for the improvement of education, infrastructures, health’s services as well as industries. Gulamali was appointed as member of Local Authorities Accounts Committee (2015-2018) and later member Energy and Minerals Committee (2018-2020). He is also a member of the Association of Local Government Authorities of Tanzania (ALAT) from Tabora. Honourable Seif Khamis Gulamali is well-known for his war against corruption and embezzlement of public funds in an environment where all odds are against him. Gulamali has a personality that cannot be contained in a few words.
