Sekoir is a peer-to-peer money transfer platform started in April 2021[1], the company is based in Jijel, Algeria

Operating basics

The money transfer happens between two members of the platform: a seller and a buyer.[2]

The seller creates the “selling offer” containing the bank or e-wallet he is using, the bank he wants to receive in, his exchange rate, the currency and any other information he sees as necessary.

The buyer, on the other hand, finds this offer and contacts the seller to exchange the account information so they can proceed with the exchange.

Security

The platform bases the security of the transactions on the following:

  • Retaining the seller’s IDs so in any case of scam the buyer can sue him, and making the buyer send money first.
  • A system of ratings and reviews for the sellers and buyers
  • Ranking the sellers in levels based on their performance in the platform
  • Limitations on the amounts exchanged at a time depending on the level of the seller

Versions

Cavalo

Cavalo is the first version of the platform, it includes the basic functions as creating the transfer offer, liking and commenting on it in addition to searching for offers in the marketplace through the available filters.

This version is only available in Arabic and as a website.[3]
