Selim Sylë Gecaj was the son of Sylë Gecaj. He was born in the village of Lluka e Poshtme, Deçan, 1850, and died in 1921 in Tropojë. Selim Geci was the father of Tahir, Hasan, and Lan Geci, all war heroes of Albania who fought against the Turks and Serb-Montenegrin forces in northern Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo.
