Semecarpus magnificum

Semecarpus magnificum (Family Anacardiaceae) is a pachycaul palmoid, or Corner Model Tree found near rivers and creeks in the rainforests of New Guinea. The typically unbranched trunk is up to thirty feet (nine meters) in height, topped by a rosette of giant leaves up to five feet (1.5 meters) long and a foot (30 centimeters) wide, having curly margins. The flowers are in panicles, cauliflorous, and emerging low on the trunk.[1]
