Septendecimal, base 17, or rarely base XVII, sits in the line between hexadecimal and octodecimal. Septendecimal, being comprised of eighteen numeric symbols, is a weird numeral system along with a few other contenders for weirdest numeral system: vigesimal and senary.

Theorized origin of septendecimal[edit]
It is possible that septendecimal was created fusing septenary and decimal. They possibly took the "ary" out of "septenary," then made "decimal" the suffix and boom. Septendecimal was born.
