Serebii is a free to use Pokémon website, known for bringing the latest Pokémon news.[1] It was created by Joe Merrick in October 1999, and he is still its webmaster to this day.[2] The main page contains a news sections and it also contains a page for each pokémon, pokémon trading card, every pokémon move, movie, game, anime episodes and pokémon ability.

The website was created in October 1999,[2] but archiving started from September 2000, and the site has gone over multiple design changes over time, including a change of banner every few months, but the site looks similar to as it began, with main news in the centre of the home page and links to other parts of the site on either site.[3] The site has continually added information about recent news and Pokémon games. Joe Merrick added a Pokémon of the day link to the site, which changed into a Pokémon of the week.
Name[edit]
On an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit, Joe Merrick was quoted as naming the site Serebii because "It is the literal translation of the characters for Celebi's Japanese name. Celebi was the Mythical Pokémon of the time when the site started"[4]
