Sergey Mysovskiy is a Russian big wave surfer, stand-up paddle (SUP) surfer, surfer, tow-in surfer, kitesurfer.

Biography[edit]

Mysovsky Sergey was born on July 29, 1986 in the city of Leningrad (USSR). At the age of 13 he began to skateboarding. After graduating from school, in 2003 he entered the St. Petersburg University of Water Communications. After graduation he devoted himself to water sports. Engaged in coaching and instructor activities. In addition to sports, he is fond of graphic design, painting, photo and video shooting, practices Surf Art. In January 2016, he released his debut directorial work, a short film in the art-house style "Vagabond Leaf Surfer".[1]

Career[edit]

In 2011, ranked first on the Cup of Russia in the discipline "Shortboard".[2] In 2013 he receives an invitation to the KSP World Kitesurfing Championship on the island of Maui, Hawaii (Kite Surf Pro World Championship Tour) and takes 17th place there.[3]

In September 2016, Sergey took the 7th place at the official Kitesurfing World Championship (wave surfing) of the IKA Kiteboarding World Championship held on Pingtan Island, China.

In September 2017, Sergey takes the 1st place in the open Lithuanian Surfing Championship[4] and takes 1st place in the Championship of Russia on surfing(paddle board) (St. Petersburg) Russia. In winter 2017/2018, an athlete trains surfing on the big waves in Nazare and sets a personal record after catching a wave of 15 meters.[5]
