Seth Cluett
Seth Cluett (born 1976) is an American composer, artist, and writer. He is the Director of the Computer Music Center and Assistant Director of the Sound Art MFA Program at Columbia University where he is on the composition faculty of the Department of Music with affiliate appointments in the Data Science Institute and the Center for Comparative Media.[1] He has been Artist-in-Residence at Nokia Bell Labs since 2017.[1]
His work has been presented internationally at venues such as The Whitney Museum, MoMA/PS1, the Fonds régional d'art contemporain de Franche-Comté, GRM, and STEIM. His concert music has been commissioned by TAK Ensemble, So Percussion, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the International Contemporary Ensemble and his music is documented on Errant Bodies Press, Line, Sedimental, and Winds Measure Recordings.[2] Cluett holds a BM in Music Composition from the New England Conservatory of Music where he was a student of Arthur Berger and Lee Hyla, an MFA in Electronic Arts from iEAR Studios at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was a student of Pauline Oliveros, and a PhD in Music Composition from Princeton University advised by Scott Burnham and was a student of Paul Lansky and Barbara White.
