Shaddad is the name of a king who is said to be the ruler of tbe Ad Tribe in Arabia.[1].which is said to be extinct. In the Quran the Ad were a tribe after the flood of Noah which built huge pillars, buildings and had lofty pillars. It is an ancient arabian tribe in the peninsula. The city was Iram,of the pillars. Most possibly in Southern Arabia. The Prophet Hud was sent by Allah to guide the people there, which they refused the message. Then,Islamic tradition states that the tribe and the city were destroyed by a sandstorm by Allah. Shaddad is not named in the Quran. But he is often used in Islamic folklore,Mythology and Theology for references to the Adite king[2] Although epigraphic evidence has been found referencing the tribe of ʿĀd[3], no archaeological remains have been definitively linked to the legendary figure Shaddad bin ʿĀd or the monumental city of Iram described in tradition [4]

The main tradition of Shaddad comes from the Persian famous stories One Thousand night and days,Alif Layla.Where Shaddad tried to build his own Paradise in Iram of the Pillars. After which they were destroyed

For an instance,a tradition mentions Shaddad, the king of Ad as the ruler who built the pyramids in Egypt and ruled there[5].Possibly making the claim of his rule larger and more in Northern Arabia aswell. The reason for this link may be the author trying to attribute Pyramids to the Arabs as part of their achievements. As many medieval Muslim writers did.[6]

There is no mention of Shaddad in archaeological or quranic record.
