Shadik Kayem (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a Bangladeshi student leader and co-coordinator[1][2] of the anti-discrimination student movement that led the 2024 quota reform movement. He was the president of the Dhaka University branch of Islami Chhatrashibir.[3][4] He is currently serving as the central Literature Secretary.[5][6][7]

Early life

Shadik Kayem was born in Khagrachhari district town. His father is a cloth businessman in the district.[citation needed]

Education

He started his studies at Baitush Sharaf Jabbaria Adarsh Madrasa in Khagrachari from an early age and passed Dakhil. Later, he passed Alim from Baitush Sharaf Adarsh Kamil Madrasa in Chittagong. He was a student of the Political Science Department of Dhaka University in the 2016-17 session.[8]

Political career

He is currently serving as the Central Literary Secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir. Previously, he served as the President of the Dhaka University branch of Islami Chhatrashibir.

Shadik Kayem is the former president of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Students' Union and one of the founding members of the Hill Society. He is also a former facilitator of Save Youth-Students Against Violence, former organizing secretary of the Surya Sen Hall Association of Political Science, and former general secretary of the Bangladesh Youth Initiative-BYI.[9][10]
