Shadow on Da Track
Chardonel Guillaume (born April 2, 2002), professionally known as Shadow on Da Track. He is a Haitian American record producer working with several Underground Artists based in Florida. Shadow on Da Track is known for his creativity by making beats on YouTube[1] and also for his production credits with artists.
Early life
Shadow on Da Track was born on April 2, 2002, in a city named Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Shadow grew up in Haiti, a city where everybody loves cultural activities, like parties, festivals, etc. His dad had a business next to the beach in that city called (NENEL BEACH). Since Shadow was a kid, every time he went there, the only thing that always caught his attention was the performer (DJ). He began to love music, starting DJing at home on his computer. At 14 years old, he got his first performance at NENEL BEACH. At 15 years old, he moved to the United States with his parents. Since he was a kid, his only dream was to become a music producer, DJ & sound engineer. Shadow on Da Track began his career at the age of 16, he taught himself how to produce. From the beginning, his artist's name was "Shadow Beatz." After two (2) years, he decided to change his artist name to Shadow on Da Track because the first brand name was already in use for another person. With the help of high school friends, he began to gain local popularity for his self-pressed projects. He learned how to edit his "type beat" videos to upload on YouTube, design his own logo, script his own Beat Store, and build his brand from the ground up.[2]
Personal life
Starting to produce at 16 years old, Shadow cites Curtiss king[3], Timbaland[4] as some of his inspirations.
Tag
In the beginning, Shadow didn't have a tag or a brand name for his product such as instrumentals. He got a nickname (Chardo), so all his friends at school, at church, everywhere started to call him "Shadow." He came up with a name (shadowBeatz). Two years later, the name was already used for another person’s brand, so he decided to change his brand name to "Shadow on Da Track." He got a tag from an online voice tag maker.[5]
Projects
Shadow on Da Track released his first project (type beat) on YouTube called "Jump Up"[6]
