Shahi Kabir is an Indian film director and Screenwriter who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry.[1] He marked his excellence as a writer after he bagged the 69th National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the Malayalam movie Nayattu (2021).[2][3][4][5]

Career[edit]

Shahi was known for his directorial debut Ela Veezha Poonchira which bagged him the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards for Best Debut Director.[6] [7]The exceptional talent of Shahi Kabir was duly acknowledged when he was bestowed with the prestigious best screenplay award at the 69th National Film Awards for his remarkable work in the movie Nayattu (2021).[2][3][4][5][8] His exceptional writing talents were acknowledged with the Vanitha Film Awards 2019 for the film Joseph. He also worked as an Assistant Director to Dileesh Pothan in Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
