Shailesh Singh IPS
Shailesh Singh is an Indian Police Service Officer who is well known for his work in combating drug trafficking while working as inspector-General of Police, Narcotics. .
Early life[edit]
Shailesh Singh was born on 18th February, 1965 in the city of Neemuch, Madhya pradhesh. His father is also a renowned and a well-known mathematician in the State of Madhya Pradesh. He did his Bachelor of Engineering(BE) in Electrical Engineering from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology(MANIT), Bhopal.
Career[edit]
Shailesh Singh started his career as an Electrical Engineer working for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC). After working with ONGC for one year, he went on to join Indian Civil Services where he started his career as a Assistant Superintendent of Police in Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu in 1987. The career trajectory of Shailesh include serving as Senior Director Of Police(SDOP) in Tiruppur, Additional Superintendent of Police in Madhya Pradesh and Superintendent of Police in Datia, Seoni and Chhindwara districts.
He is recognised for his work in combating drug trafficking as Inspector-General of Police, Narcotics. He was awarded President's Police Medal for his Distinguished Service in Indian Police. He also worked as Additional Director General, Cyber Crime, Bhopal for the establishment of Cyber Headquarters in Madhya Pradesh for prevention and detection of cybercrime, checking of the cyber frauds, bank frauds, etc.
Personal Life[edit]
Shailesh Singh is married to Dr. Sunita Singh. They both have a son and daughter, where their son Shashank Singh is a professional cricketer playing in IPL and their daughter Shrutika Singh is a married woman who is employed in ONGC.
