Shannon Bourne is an Australian guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music producer. He won the 1997 Victorian Guitar Solo Competition and the 2001 VicTas Blues Music Emerging Talent Award. He is well revered by his contemporaries.[1] [2]

Bourne is known for both his solo work and as the lead guitarist for several projects. He is the lead guitarist in the Melbourne blues band Checkerboard Lounge.[3] He also plays for Don Walker of Cold Chisel. [4]

In 2011 Bourne joined the band of Australian blues musician Chris Wilson as lead guitarist, for touring and recorded collaborations. He has also worked with Russell Morris, Broderick Smith, The Black Sorrows, Vanessa Amorosi, Matt Walker, John Schumann, Andy Cowan, and Kerri Simpson.

From 2009 to 2011, Bourne toured with Tex Perkins' "The Man in Black: The Johnny Cash Story". His guitar-playing can be heard on Russell Morris' blues trilogy (Sharkmouth, Van Diemen's Land, and Red Dirt, Red Heart) and Chris Wilson and Geoff Achison's 2012 "Box of Blues."[5] In 2010 he was invited to showcase at SXSW in Austin Texas.[6]
