Shannon K (born Shannon Kumar Sanu) is an Indian singer and actress.[1] She started her singing career with Poo Bear in 2018.[2] She debuted as an actress in the movie The Big Feed in 2020. She performed at Coachella 2025.[3]

Early life and education

Shannon K was born in Mumbai, India, and is the daughter of Indian singer Kumar Sanu.[2] She studied music at the Royal Academy of Music, London.[4]

Career

Singing

She debuted with Poo Bear with the song "A Long Time" in 2018.[2][4]

She collaborated with music producer Kyle Townsend in the song, "Give Me Your Hand".[citation needed] The song was co-written with Annabel, Shannon K's younger sister, in support of the anti-bullying charity Love is Louder, part of The Jed Foundation.[5] The song won the HMMA Award for best original song.[1]

Shannon has collaborated with Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam on the love song "OMT" in November 2018.[4]

Acting

She debuted in American movies with a cameo in Manolo Vergara's The Big Feed (2020).[citation needed]
