Shannon Walker Williams is an American actress and singer.

Early life[edit]

Williams, the daughter of John (a high school teacher) and Jackie Williams,[1] grew up in Rockfall, Connecticut,[2][3] and graduated from Mercy High School, Middletown, in 1992.[1] She attended Northeastern University as a music industry major,[3][4] but left her studies to join the all-female R&B group Shades,[3] which was signed to Motown Records.[5] Williams plays piano, as well as writing, arranging and singing.[2]

Williams' first appearance on screen was in the soap As the World Turns, playing a pregnant teenage runaway auditioning for a job in a strip club, in an episode which had its transmission on the east coast of the US interrupted by a livestream of news about NATO airstrikes in Yugoslavia.[1] In the film Girlfight, Williams played "a bitch named Veronica"[6] who takes a punch from the main character, fellow school student Diana, "ostensibly for seducing her best friend's boyfriend."[7]

Personal life[edit]

Williams married basketball player Ray Allen on August 16, 2008 after having dated since 1999.[1] They have four children together.[8]
