Sharegain is a London based Fintech venture, enabling individual investors to benefit from the global securities lending market.[1][2] Sharegain allows investors to generate revenue by lending loans out of their financial assets, ETFs and bonds in return for payment.[3] It offers SLaaS platform for retail investors, to create a more efficient and transparent market to any investors to benefit from better data, higher liquidity and long term trust in capital markets.[4]

History[edit]

Boaz Yaari founded Sharegain in 2015, to help individual investors generate additional revenue by lending their financial assets. Sharegain received Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) approval to offer the SLaaS platform to retail investors whose portfolio exceeds £500,000.[5] The first trade was made in July 2017, which involved a family office lending proprietorship to a prime broker.

Business Models[edit]

Sharegain is a technology platform that enables investors to lend Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), stocks, and bonds in return for a payment known as lending revenue.[6][7] The business focuses on reinventing the securities lending industry, transforming it from a convoluted and opaque industry into an open and simple ecosystem.[1]

Funding[edit]

Sharegain raised more than $12 million in 2018 to support the platform’s roll-out to online brokers, robo-advisors, and private banks.[8][9][10][11] The lead investors are Blumberg Capital, Maverick Ventures Israel, Target Global and Rhodium.[5][12] Sharegain raised 5million euros funding from private investors and venture capital funds.[3][13][14]
