Sharhaan Singh is an Indian actor, director, writer, and producer who works predominantly in Hindi daily television soap operas. He is well known for his role as Siddharth Verma in Indian Soap Opera Uttaran. Besides his roles in multiple TV shows, he has worked in numerous Punjabi and Hindi movies.

Early Life[edit]

Sharhaan Singh was born on 12th October 1980 in Patiala. He spent his childhood in his hometown and later shifted to Mumbai for his acting career.[1]. His father, Gulshan Lal, worked in Punjab Transport Service (PRTC). His brother Rahul Singh is an editor for many TV shows and movies.

Education[edit]

Sharhaan Singh attended his schooling in various schools in Patiala. In 1999, he graduated from Government Mohindra College, Patiala. Later, he post-graduated from Punjab University in Theatre & Television Department in 2002.

Acting Career[edit]

Sharhaan Singh's first breakthrough came in the Punjabi romantic drama movie Yaaran Naal Baharan in 2005. He made his debut in Indian Television through a Zee TV daily soap Rakhi (TV series). His major breakthrough came in 2009 through the third longest-running Indian television series of Colors TV, 'Uttaran.'

Apart from these, he has appeared in numbers of T.V Serials such as Jhansi Ki Rani, Tere Mere Sapne, Ram Milaayi Jodi[2], Hum Phir Milenge, Gustakh Dil, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Veer Shivaji, Lajwanti, Hum Hain Na, Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Yeh Teri Galiyan and Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein. Singh is known for playing negative roles in Television Series.[3]

In 2006, he appeared in the Punjabi comedy movie Thana Shagna Da as Rahul. He also appeared in the movie Wattanaan Ton Door as Sandeep in 2008. In 2012, he appeared in the drama Jeet Lengey Jahaan. He also starred in the Punjabi comedy movie Mr & Mrs 420 starring Jassi Gill and Yuvrah Hans. In 2018, he appeared in the historic drama Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor where he played one of the commanders of Mewar Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor).

Singh will appear in the Punjabi Comedy Aape Pein Siyappe[4] in 2021. He is also the writer, director and producer of the movie.[5]

He has appeared in more than 60 TV shows and ten movies in his 15-year career.[6]

Besides working as the main cast and recurring cast mentioned in the TV shows below, he has also worked as a non-recurring cast in shows like Dharamputra, CID, Aahat, Sannata, Bhoot Aaya, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, Savdhaan India, Crime Alert, Bhanwar, Zee Horror show Fear files[7]
