Sharon Jurd

Sharon Jurd (born Sharon Maree George; 17 February 1971) is an Australian business coach, author, and entrepreneur. She is the founder of the SMJ Coaching Institute and co-founder of HydroKleen Global. Her work involves small business mentoring, franchising, and personal development.[1][2]

Career

Jurd began her professional career in real estate at age 16. She later established two Century 21 real estate offices in Muswellbrook and Singleton, New South Wales, which were sold by 2009.

In 2009, she piloted the HydroKleen franchise in Darwin. The following year, she relocated to Queensland and began franchising HydroKleen across Australia. The brand expanded internationally in 2015 under the HydroKleen Global name.[2]

In 2013, she launched Sharon Jurd Events, followed by the SMJ Coaching Institute, which offers training in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and business coaching. Jurd has also presented at events in countries including the United States, United Kingdom, France, and the United Arab Emirates.[3]

Authorship

Jurd is the author of two books:

  • How to Grow Your Business Faster Than Your Competitor – The Secrets to Freedom and Success in 5 Easy Steps (2013)[4]
  • Extraordinary Women in Franchising: How Their Businesses Have Grown and How Yours Can Too... (2015)[5][6]

Awards

Jurd has received several industry recognitions. In 2014, she was named Franchise Woman of the Year for both Queensland/Northern Territory and nationally by the Franchise Council of Australia.[7][8][9] She was also awarded the Certified Franchise Executive designation in 2016.[10]

She has been profiled in several publications covering women in franchising and business leadership.[11][12][13]

Personal life

Jurd's husband, John Sanders, was previously a business partner in her ventures. He passed away in 2024.[14] She is currently the sole director of HydroKleen.[15]
