SheVibe, Inc.[1] is an American feminist,[2] sex-positive, e-commerce site which sells sex toys, lingerie and other adult pleasure products. SheVibe has distinguished itself by continuously creating new content and original comic book style art/graphics throughout its entire site, including monthly comic book, superhero themed cover art for their landing page[3] which feature their products, superhero tributes and sometimes noted sex-educators. The distinctive artwork is meant to enhance each web page with expressions of political or sexual satire. SheVibe's mission is to support and incorporate sexual and social empowerment, combining eroticism, fun and artistic expression that goes beyond the retail paradigm.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY

SheVibe, Inc.[1] was launched on July 4, 2006 by husband and wife team Sandra Bruce and Thor Mikelic, both retail and small-business veterans, along with illustrator Alex Kotkin [4] and Graphic and Web Designer, Keith Beresnoy. SheVibe was incorporated in May of 2005[5] and the name trademarked, January 29, 2013.[6] Their catch-phrase “Please Vibe Responsibly” [7] is also trademarked.

SheVibe, Inc. began in a home office and garage. Today, SheVibe, Inc. operates out of a 5,000 sq. foot warehouse in Newburgh, NY, employs 10 people and carries more than 4000 products.

RETAIL

SheVibe distinguishes itself from other online retailers of adult products by its voluminous original art and creative content. SheVibe’s entire site is infused with this artwork, most notably, their super-hero, comic book style “covers”[8] they release each month. Their first cover was of “Hard Drive,” the SheVibe super-hero, dominating Superman. To date, SheVibe has created over 75 covers featuring in excess of 20 manufacturers, a yearly cover for Pride month and more than 22 sex educators[9] and adult stars.

While SheVibe’s business is to sell product, their website also includes product reviews written by well-known sex bloggers, interviews with sex educators and luminaries in the sexual health community, a “How To” page[10] which covers instructions on how to choose and use pleasure products and a section on how to navigate sex toys for the trans and disabled community.

BRANDS

SheVibe, Inc. also creates and designs adult novelties. SheVibe, Inc. is the creator and exclusive distributor of the Totally #NSFW Coloring Book series[11] and brand[12][13] which started with the #NSFW Totally Naughty Coloring Book.[14][15] They also have created the brand Vibeology[16] as the design arm of SheVibe, which they trademarked on, May 28, 2013.[17] In 2013 SheVibe partnered with Tantus, Inc.[18] to design the first toy under their Vibeology brand, the Tantus Bound Silicone Dildo.[19]

In 2018, SheVibe partnered with Blush Novelties[20] to create The Realm brand,[21] which spawned the creation of The Realm Drago Lock-On Dragon Sword Dildo Handle[22] and The Realm Draken Silicone Lock-On & Harness Compatible Dildo[23] which won a 2019 AltPorn Award for Best Sex Toy.[24]
