Sheff G
Early Life[edit]
Sheff G, born Michael Kyle Williams, was born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. He was influenced by the music of The Notorious B.I.G. and drill artists like Lil Bibby and Chief Keef. Growing up in a tough neighborhood, he was inspired to pursue rap as a way to express his experiences and connect with others who shared similar backgrounds.
Career[edit]
Sheff G rose to fame with his 2017 single "No Suburban," which was a response to 22Gz's song "Suburban." He became known as one of the vanguards of the Brooklyn drill movement, known for his dark, gritty sound and street-savvy lyrics. He has continued to release successful music, becoming a prominent figure in the drill scene.
Personal Life[edit]
Sheff G was born to a Trinidadian mother and a Haitian father. Despite his musical success, his life has been marked by legal troubles, and in May 2023, he was indicted with 31 other gang members for involvement in various shooting incidents and at least one murder. His story remains one of both musical achievement and personal challenges.
