Sheila Anderson, now known as Sheila Crystal Devin (born July 10, 1947), is a retired African-American model and actress, active mostly during the 1970s and 1980s.

Early life

Anderson was born Sheila Ann Miller on July 10, 1947, in New York City. Her parents are singer/actress Sheila Guyse and Guyse’s first husband, Shelby Irving Miller.[1].

As a child, Anderson was exposed to the entertainment industry through her mother and her stepfather, a dancer named Kenneth Davis [2].

Modeling

Anderson was signed with the Ford Modeling Agency [3]. Anderson appeared in billboards and print ads internationally. She was featured prominently in Wella Kolestral hair care ads in Ebony[4] and Jet [5]. In addition, she appeared in a series of ads for Seagrams [6] [7]. Anderson was one of the models profiled in the book Skin Deep: Inside the World of Black Fashion Models by Barbara Summers [8]

Acting

Anderson appeared in commercials for Pepsi [9] and Bic lighter. She also played the female lead in the video for the Teddy Pendergrass song, Close the Door [10]. She had several film roles, including a speaking role as a dancer in the film Star 80[11]. However, she is best known for playing the role of Cecily Pigeon in the 1982–1983 sitcom The New Odd Couple [12].

Personal Life

Anderson is divorced and has two children.
