Shendrik started his career in Pittsburgh, where he played alongside his brother Shertin Apostel until he was traded for MLB Starter Keone Kela. In 2021 spring training, he followed his brother’s footsteps and he too was traded for a pitcher, the Chicago Cubs's Duane Underwood, Jr..
