Shepard D. Osherow is an American financier and co-founder of Sanford C. Bernstein Company.
Biography
Osherow was born to a Jewish family[2][1] in the Bronx borough of New York City,[3] the son of Dorothy and Harold Osherow.[4][5] His parents were both emigrants from Kiev; his father founded a financial planning company that assisted individuals and small businesses.[4] He has one sister, Fern Osherow Grayer.[4] He is a graduate of William Howard Taft High School and in 1959, he graduated with a B.S. in economics and finance from City College of New York.[3] Osherow pursued a career in business, as co-founder, president, and COO of Sanford C. Bernstein Company in 1970.[6][7][8]
Personal life
Osherow had three children with his wife Francine DeLeo: Mark Russell Osherow (married to Nancy Raffel, daughter of Leroy Raffel, co-founder of Arby's) and Kenneth Osherow.[9] He later married Pamela Wishod with whom he had a daughter, Caroline Alyssa Osherow; they divorced in 1995.[3][10][11] He later married Sally Bosch Osherow[12] with whom he has two stepchildren, Connie Bosch Barhorst and William Bosch.[3]

I grew up in the Bronx and attended William Howard Taft High School. I chose CCNY because it was affordable to my family. I was a member of the Economics Club at CCNY.
