He is known for pioneering the "AfroHype" subgenre of Afrobeats and currently serves as Group Programs Director at Soundcity Africa.[1][2]
Career
Sheye Banks began his broadcasting career with an internship at AHBS in Kent, United Kingdom.[3] Following this foundational experience, he returned to Nigeria where he developed his skills at Unilag FM, the University of Lagos's radio station. After five years, he joined the Kiss FM franchise, working in both Abuja and Lagos, where he became known for balancing his career with postgraduate studies and marketing roles.[4]
In 2016, Banks moved to Soundcity Radio 98.5, Lagos, where he rose to prominence as an on-air personality and was later appointed Group Programs Director of Soundcity Africa. He has hosted multiple local and international shows and is notable for his prowess on highly controversial interviews with artists such as Rema, Alpha P, Dapo Tuburna, and Skales.[5][6][7]

Personal life
Sheye Banks was born in Lagos to the Ogunsanya family. His father is a print press business owner, and his mother is a lecturer. He is the first of four children.[14]
