Shikha Shah
Shikha Shah is an Indian social entrepreneur and the co-founder of Canva Fibre Labs. Her work was recognized by the Ministry of textile, IIM Ahmedabad. In 2018, she was honored with the Women Transforming India Awards, organized by the United Nations and NITI Aayog.
Early life and education[edit]
Shikha Shah studied BBA in Nirma University, Ahmedabad and went on to further pursue a MA in Management, Entrepreneurship and Leadership from Babson College - Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business.
Career[edit]
She began her career by interning with YUVA Upstoppable, FridayFictionFilms, and went on to intern for Adani Enterprises Ltd. Soon after, she was hired as an external consultant for Startup Island in New York City. She went on to work as a Strategy Consultant for Point Road Solutions in Boston. In 2017, she returned to India and co-founded BrewSigh LLP that aimed to empower tech makers with market access, market insights, and collaboration. Simultaneously, she co-founded Fibre Labs. Her company aims to solve the dual problem of textile pollution and agricultural sustainability feasible, viable and scale-able. The company converts plant stems and agricultural waste into sustainable and a functionally superior cotton alternative textile.[1] The fibre is more durable than cotton, naturally antibacterial, accommodating, UV-resistant, and soft. She is also helping the farming industry as she is providing them an alternate stream of income for the plant waste that they would dispose of.
