Shipping to Israel

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Amazon.com is an American multinational conglomerate which focuses on e-commerce. Amazon has separate retail websites for some countries and also offers international shipping of some of its products to certain other countries.[1]

In 2020, Globes reported that Amazon was engaged in talks to build three data centers in Israel.[2] On May 24, 2021, the Israeli government announced that it had made a contract with Amazon to provide cloud services for the country's public sector and military.[3] This relationship with Israel was strongly challenged on moral grounds by pro-Palestinian groups.[4] In November 2019, Amazon began offering free shipping to Israel of thousands of products with a minimum order of $49.[5] The offer ended abruptly in March 2020, when Amazon was forced to cancel the free shipping due to global uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic. Amazon was also frustrated by the Israel Postal Company and private delivery companies, which were having trouble keeping up with the massive shipping volume.[5][6] In May 2020, Amazon announced that it was relaunching its shipping services to Israel after deliveries had been halted following the coronavirus outbreak. However, it had not renewed the free shipping option.[7] In August 2021, Amazon reinstated free shipping to Israel – but only for selected orders over $65.[8][9][10][11][6]
