Shivangi Pathak (aka The Eagle of Mountains) born on 10th July 2001, is an Indian mountaineer from Hisar District of Haryana. On 16th May 2018, 8:21 AM, she had climbed the Mount Everest after a rigorous 41 days journey (started on 6th April 2018-16th May 2018) from the Nepal side</ref>
Biography
She was born and brought up in a Joint middle-class family consisting of eleven members. Aarti Pathak is her mother, a housewife and role model for her. Father Mr. Rajesh Pathak is a businessman and supported her dream mortgaging their house to climb Mount Everest. Raghav Pathak, her brother, helped at every step to fulfill her aspiration. She joined Gomti Devi Vidhya Mandir and completed her 10+2 from there located at Saat Road Cantonment, Hisar. Presently, she is pursuing her BA from Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidalaya, Khanpur University, Sonipat.vice versa.

Inspiration for Mountaineering

She got inspiration take up mountaineering from her Mother. Once she searched Google and found nothing about herself and asked her mother playfully, “who get listed on Google.” Her Mother said, “JO PAHAD CHADTE HAIN” means who do great tasks in life. She took this phrase seriously and started searching a lot on mountaineering.
Seeing her zeal, Mother took her to watch the biopic of “Arunima Sinha, the first amputee mountaineer of India” [3] which motivate her further. On a Rishikesh Vacation, she did an 83 m bungee jumping at the age of 14 years surprising her parents, and it helped to win her parent’s confidence and consent to kickstart her career in mountaineering.</ref>

Planning and Training
Wikipedia is not a soapbox Choosing a career in mountaineering isn’t approved by the society nor thought to fit an Indian girl. Even half of her family members were not aware that she was pursuing a Mountaineering course until she got the permit letter to scale Mount Everest. She was trained at Jawahar Institute of mountaineering and winter sports (Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir) and Himalayan mountaineering institute (Darjeeling) [3].
Financial Obstacles
Mountaineering is expensive and one of the most challenging sports in the world. Her family had to face a lot of financial crunches due to the cancellation of sponsorship owing to her tender age. But her family supported and even had to mortgage their house to fund her expedition.
Denial of Permit Letter
(Many agencies have rejected her proposal and denied permit letter to climb Mount Everest. She didn’t lose hope but become more determined for this feat. At last, the SEVEN SUMMITS agency granted her permission for Mount Everest expedition.)
Success on Mount Everest
On 16th May 2018, Shivangi Pathak becomes the youngest Indian women [1] to have climb Mount Everest at a tender age of 16 years and 10 months.
