Shmulikipod
Shmulikipod (in Hebrew: "שמוליקיפוד", literal translation: Shmulik-Hedgehog) is a famous Israeli children's book written and illustrated by T. Carmi and his wife at the time, Shoshana Heimann, under the joint pseudonym "Cush" (an acronym of "Carmi and Shoshana) and was published with Sifriyat Poalim in 1955.
The book is about a boy named Gadi who fell sick and was left alone at home, and was visited by a nice hedgehog who becomes his friend.
In 1966 the book was adapted to a children's album using Carmi's songs, composed by Mel Keller and sung by Dalia Friedland under the record label NMC Music, and became successful. The book was also adapted to a children's play. In 2016 the story was adapted to a play in which the hedgehog spoke Hebrew and Gadi Arabic.
