Shortbread House of Edinburgh is a Scottish manufacturer of shortbread, sweet oaties, biscuits, cakes and cheese sablés. The company is a family-run bakery based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The company is known for making their shortbread biscuits by hand in a traditional way.[1]


History[edit]

In 1989, Anthony and Fiona Laing bought an existing one-woman business based in Edinburgh. Anthony Laing's father was Lord Laing, who was chairman of United Biscuits. They grew the company and started exporting their products. The company is now run by Anthony and Fiona's two sons, Rupert and Christopher Laing.[2] In 2016, the company redesigned its branding and all its packaging.[3]
