Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. [1] (also known as SRK) is an Indian diamond crafting and exports company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and has diamond crafting facilities in Surat, Gujarat, India, that crafts diamonds.
History
In 1964, two friends and then diamond merchants in Surat, Govind Dholakia, Bhagwan Patel and Virji Godhani founded a small diamond manufacturing unit, which was formally registered as Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK) in 1976. In 2012, the company got registered as Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. (SRK).[2]
Business activities
SRK mainly focuses on cutting and polishing quality diamonds, which it eventually sells to retailers and jewelers across the globe. The company crafts diamonds in various shapes and sizes and also helps customers to buy diamonds online through its website.
In 2003, Shree Ramkrishna Exports achieved status of Sightholder [3] and is on De Beers Global Sightholder Sales's (DBGSS) list since then.
On 12th October 2022, Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. (SRK) pledged to achieve Net Zero emissions for two of our diamond crafting facilities by 2024 for the betterment of the planet.[4]
Philanthropy
- SRK and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad conduct an Annual Lecture series.
- In 2016, Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan delivered a lecture during the IIMA-SRK Annual Lecture series.[5]
- In 2018, a marriage portal for HIV+ people was launched at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad by SRK.[6]
- On the occasion of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 15th August, 2022, the Shree Ramkrishna Exports's Founder & Chairman Govind Dholakia announced that they will install residential solar rooftops at the homes of 750 martyred soldiers and unsung heroes across India.[7]
