Shreyaskar Gaur

Shreyaskar Gaur, born on October 8th, 1985, is an Indian Hindi Poet, Writer, Music Composer, Filmmaker, Singer, Actor and formerly an Assistant Professor in an Engineering college. He is known for his notable works in Hindi poetry, music and films.

LIFE AND CAREER

Shreyaskar was born on October 8th, 1985 in a middle class Brahmin family in the town of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, where he studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Babugarh cantt. His father, Late Ramakant Gaur, was an officer in Allahabad Bank posted at various locations in his service tenure and his mother Nirmala Gaur, a Sanskrit scholar, chose to be a homemaker after working in a college for just a few days. He is the elder child with just one younger brother, Utkarsh Gaur.

Shreyaskar has done his early primary education in Saraswati Shishu Mandir, high school from Kendriya Vidylaya and Intermediate from Saraswati Bal Mandir, Hapur.

Though he studied B.Tech and MBA, both from UP Technical University (Now Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh), but he always kept his creative side happening in parallel.

He worked in IT sector for a short tenure before start working in an Engineering college as an Assistant Professor. Further he worked in Film and Music production as a Creative Director.

Currently he is a Partner in reputed law firms and consulting firms and also involved in the work of environment and solid waste management.

He became popular for his Anthem song dedicated to the India Against Corruption movement led by Socialist Anna Hazare in which, alongwith his multi-genre band Brahmshoonya, has done numerous live concerts towards the success of the movement.

He has also worked in Boney Kapoor produced Bollywood film ‘Mom’ in which he shared screen with legendary actress Sridevi.

Shreyaskar routinely performs in various kavi sammelans, literay festivals and he has done numerous live concerts with his band Brahmshoonya nationally and internationally.

CREATIVE CAREER

Shreyaskar has always been a bright student all his student life while being on top in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

He has won National level singing and Hindi poetry competition in 2002 in his senior secondary education. His poetic work is being published in various magazines including one from USA also. He has performed in premier institutions like Delhi College of Engineering (Now DTU), IITs, Delhi University, many prestigious colleges, universities, and other organizations.

In 2012, he made a song “Anna Ho Anna" in the support of India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare which became popular worldwide. He, along with his band Brahmshoonya, performed with Anna Hazare supporting his nationwide Jantantra yatra.

Further in September 2013, Shreyaskar became the youngest such person in India who wrote and composed the Kulgeet of Mahamaya Technical University (Now Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh) which later he performed and launched in the first convocation ceremony on September 20, 2013 in the presence of the then Governer of Uttar Pradesh Shri. B L Joshi, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S K Kak, Controller of examination Dr. J P Pandey and many other academic big names.

While working for companies like “AVG Advertising”, “Vipra Dialogues” and “Cine Zeus Kef” as a Writer, Creative Director, Lyricist, Music Composer, he also worked as an actor and shared screen with legendary actress Sridevi in the Boney Kapoor produced film “Mom” along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshay Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh, Adnan Siddiqui and Rahul Bhuchar.

As a Writer, Creative Director and Actor, he worked for Speaking Tree (Times of India) in tens of videos.

In April 2019, he wrote, composed, sung and performed a song “Ek hi Vikalp Modi” supporting BJP and Honorable Prime minister Narendra Modi ji’s candidature in the general election 2019. He has also gone to West Bengal to campaign for Bhartiya Janta Party.

He has received many prestigious awards for his notable works in Hindi Sahitya from many organizations including Marwah Studio and AAFT in their International Literary Festival in 2019 and 2021.
