Shrezzers (stylized SHREZZERS), formerly Shredding Brazzers, are a Russian progressive metal band formed in 2016 in Saint Petersburg.
History
Formation and debut album (2016-2019)
The band was formed by drummer Mark Mironov (ex-Betraying the Martyrs), guitarists Slayc Kavlenas (ex-Wildways), Vitalii Molokanov, saxophonist Artem Subichev, and vocalist Sam Arrag. The group gained attention after premiering their debut single (music), Mystery, on 7 July, 2016.[1] Their original name, "Shredding Brazzers," refers to shred guitar or "shredding" and used the name and yellow "ZZ" branding (promotional) of the pornographic website Brazzers. The band changed their name to "Shrezzers," a portmanteau of their original name, in January 2017 after being contacted by Brazzers.[2] The band released their debut album, Relationships, on 4 January, 2019 and featured guest artists Dymitry Demyanenko (Shokran), Slicky D, Ronnie Canizaro (Born of Osiris), Jared Dines, TWild, Natly, Aaron Marshall (Intervals (band)), Sergey Golovin, Kvik, and Aaron Matts (ex-Betraying the Martyrs).[3]
Lineup change to present (2020-present)
From January to February 2020, the band held an online contest where participants were asked to sing a cover version of one of their songs and the winners would receive various merchandise. It was later revealed the band used the contest to seek out a replacement vocalist and in September 2020, Peruvian Diego Silva Málaga premiered as the new singer for the group in their single Phoenix.[4]
