Sialorphin

Sialorphin (Sai-lor-fin) is a pentapeptide protein composed of the amino acids "Arg-Glu-His-Asp-Pro".^[1]. It is known to be associated with the anesthetic effects of saliva in both mammals and mosquitos. It works via the inhibition of the transient receptor potential vanilloid and ankyrin 1 proteins, (TRPV1) and (TRPA1) respectively^[2]
