Sibylle Schücking

Sibylle Schücking, (15th of June 1921 - 24th October 2000), was a feminist activist who founded the first women's shelter in rural Germany in 1979. She studied veterinary science at a time when veterinary medicine was firmly in the hands of male colleagues. Sibylle Schücking dedicated her life to empower women, particularly those who were threatened by male violence. She founded the association "Women help women" association in Warendorf. In addition to the women's shelter, Sibylle Schücking also founded Germany's first women's party. Born into a family of writers and mawyers
