Siddhartha Kunti (14 June 1986[1]) is an Austrian entrepreneur and artist currently based in Belgium.[2] He is considered a pioneer in the digital art space for giving visual form to scent and aroma by using a combination of advanced chemistry, scripting and 3D modeling.[3]

Kunti launched Flvrlab ltd in 2019 to digitize the sense of smell, which formed the basis of his current artistic practice. Though early in his artistic career, his work is being shown at major art fairs and commissioned by leading institutions.

Early life

Kunti was born in India, Calcutta in 1986, but mainly grew up in Leuven, Belgium in a multi-disciplinary family. The exposure to industrial design, wood-working and violin making probably shaped Kunti’s perspective on art and the way things are built.[2][4]

Education

After his family moved to Belgium, Kunti mainly grew up in the University town of Leuven, where he also obtained two masters degrees from KULeuven. He also holds an MBA from the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland (IMD).[5]

Career

Tech, 3D printing & AI

After spending a year in China, Kunti joined global 3D printing leader Materialise NV.[6] where he - during a 9 year tenure - would occupy various roles working in industries ranging from automotive to aerospace, fashion and healthcare. In 2014 Materialise acquired Orthoview Ltd, a small software firm with a global footprint serving +11.000 Orthopaedic surgeons. Kunti, upon completing his IMD MBA in 2015, became General Manager of the acquired unit and was tasked with the turnaround & PMI as well as the strategy for the mini-unit.

In 2019 he set up FlvrLab ltd, a company to digitize the sense of smell. The company’s first prototype was an AI-enabled platform for flavour and beverage discovery in Whiskies. To this extent he chemically analyzed +800 spirits (approx 620 Whiskies) from around the world to build a first dataset.

From 2022-2024 Kunti was involved as Co-Founder in helping scale Curafyt BV, a Belgium start-up founded by veterinarian Valerie De Clerck which focusses on selling phytotherapy-based supplements for horses & dogs both B2C and B2B.

The Arts

In 2024 Kunti started working on a new art concept; one that would blend technology, science and education with a core focus on scent. He believes[7] that by making scent visible, it can help people better understand its complexity and appreciate it more for the powerful human sense it is. His primary methodology is creating digital work with a physical and olfactory component so his art is experiential.[8][9][10]

Origins Molecular Symphony

His debut show at the Saatchi gallery in London (British Art Fair 2025) showed the novel concept of taking molecular chemical data and turning into dynamic visual (video) sculptures that visualize scent. Kunti specifically took chemical profiles from his whisky dataset and created portraits that represented aroma profiles of different whiskies from around the globe. Each artistic work being a time capsule and scientific discovery: looking at the roots (origins) of flavour in whisky from around the world.[11][12]

DNA of Oud

For Art Dubai Digital 2026, Kunti worked with curators Ulrich Schrauth and Nadine Khalil[13] to create a body of work that would be deeply rooted in local culture. Known as "liquid gold," Oud carries a 3000-year history in the Middle East, symbolizing spiritual depth and hospitality. Kunti took a high-end sample of Oud from Cambodia and turned it into a digital artwork that reframes regional olfactory heritage in a future- facing narrative.[14][15][16]

IMD Business School

Together with IMD business school and their COO, Louis Leclezio, Kunti created a pioneering showcase during IMD’s Orchestrating Winning Performance (OWP) week whereby scent, leadership and art were blended together to provide participants a different kind of learning.

Honors and awards

  • In 2018 HE Ambassador Rudy Huygelen, appointed Kunti as Honorary Consul as recognition for his contributions to the Belgo-UK tech relations and ecosystem.[17] Together with the first secretary Laurent Preudhomme, Kunti created the first edition of ‘’Belgian Tech’’, an event aimed getting top Belgian startups in front of leading UK venture capitalists and investors.[18]
  • 2nd place in the Kate Bryan art Xhisense UK competition (2026) with Scentscape X127, UK Whisky sample.
