Siddharthan Chandran FRSE FMedSci, is Dean of Clinical Medicine, Head of Edinburgh Medical School, and Director of Edinburgh Neuroscience, Euan MacDonald Centre and Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic.[1][2]
Research
His research focuses on the discovery and translational aspects of regenerative neurology.[3] In partnership with the UCL/MRC Clinical Trials Unit he has conducted multi-arm, multi-stage platform trials for neurodegenerative diseases.[4]
Clinical work
He founded and directs the Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, the pan-Scotland Euan MacDonald MND Centre and leads Edinburgh’s MS Society Centre of Excellence.[5]
SpeakUnique
He founded the SpeakUnique voice-banking company, enabling patients with degenerative neurological disease to store recordings of their own voice, so that it can later be used to help them communicate using speech support technology.[6]
